SERIES: DANCING STONES

This series of paintings evolved soon after I had begun the Towns and Temples series. The circular motions and natural curved shapes were a nice contrast to the building block shapes of my recent work. It felt familiar and relaxing. These paintings are reminiscent of my early childhood walks in the woods of Pennsylvania with my mother. My brother and I could never resist dancing on the giant smooth stones as we passed them. The first of the series (Dancing Stones) revealed a tiny dancer I only noticed after its completion. The series continues to evolve from stones to eggs to pods and to seeds. I feel much of it is about how I perceive my personal growth.
