These
paintings are the result of deeply delving into my own spirituality. While
I work, I often listen to traditional Hindu music, mantra, and chant.
The music I enjoy always has a great influence on the outcome of a given
painting. The stillness of these paintings (Borne
Aquatic and Ghost Flower
in particular) is very meditative. They all share much of the same qualities
of the Towns and Temples series. Both
series were started at the same time and are truly influenced by one other,
however, the calligraphic "mystery" writing is more defined in the Spirit
works.
